The main project of Geheyan Hydropower Station on Qingjiang River is the dam with a length of 684 meters, an elevation of 206 meters and a relative height of 151 meters. Geheyan Hydropower Station was started in January 1987. In November 1994, all four 1.2 million kilowatt-hour units generated electricity, which lasted for eight years. The dam has a maximum storage capacity of 3.4 billion cubic meters and annual power generation capacity of 3.04 billion degrees. It is one of the main peak shaving and frequency modulation power plants in Central China Power Grid.
